Just a chill mostly bouldering expedition to Indian rock boulders. If that gets tiring, we can move to castle rock proper. I will bring a rope so we can have a single rope set up going as well.

Safety Reminder

Remember that Cragmont is not a guiding or teaching organization. Cragmont does not test or certify members or participants on their skills. As an organization Cragmont does not have any knowledge of the skills anyone on a trip has. Cragmont is a social base camp. We create a place where climbers can meet and get together.
Do not blindly assume that if there is a top rope in place it is setup correctly. Do not assume if someone offers to belay you, they are qualified to do so.

It’s solely up to you to decide if you should be trusting someone who:

  • Is belaying you
  • Has put up an anchor or rope you are climbing on
  • Has placed proper protection in the rock (quickdraws, cams, nuts or bolts)
  • Is giving you advice or instruction on climbing skills

You should have the skills ahead of time to decide if you can trust the skills of climbers you meet on a trip.
If any of this gives you pause or is new to you check out our How to think about safety on trips page.

Cragmont is not a teaching organization. It's a social base camp. We create shared spaces to connect with other climbers. We hope you'll exchange knowledge and learn from one another. However, Cragmont does not test or vet members. It's up to you to decide what knowledge is correct and what might lead to danger. If you are new to climbing, the best way to help with these decisions is to take classes from professional guides.
